 Born
on July 25, 1947 at Dindugul, TamilNadu, Ms. V.S. Chandralekha
is a well known lady holding the position of State President
of TamilNadu - Janata Party.
Ms. V.S.Chandralekha has good academic records. She finished
her M.A (Economics) in 1968 at Presidency College, Madras
University.
Ms. V.S.Chandralekha joined the Indian Administrative Service
in accord to save the nation and she was alloted to the
TamilNadu cadre. Later after 21 years of service, she resigned
from IAS and joined in Janata Party, headed by Dr. Subramanian
Swamy. She is the State President of Janata Party from 1992
till date.
Her experience as an Indian Administrative Officer includes
• Chairman & Managing Director, TamilNadu Industrial
Development Corporation (1991-92).
• Chairman, Women's Development Corporation (1988
- 90).
• Director, Rural Development & Secretary to Government,
Rural Development (1985-88).
• District Collector, South Arcot & Madurai (1980-85).
• General Manager, Civil Supplies Corporation &
Deputy Secretary, Food (1976-80).
• Sub Collector, Chengalpet & Cheran Mahadevi
(1973-75).
