1. The Janata Party will take a decision at a future National Executive Meeting on whether or not to have an electoral adjustment in any state with the BJP.

Hence, I deny today’s Hindu report which states that the Karnataka Unit of the party is likely to enter into a poll pact with BJP.

The report, which does not quote any authoritative source, is clearly mischievous and is one in a string of such reports by the Bangalore correspondent in the recent past.

2. The proposal of AIPJD merger into Janata Party will take place after the modalities, presently being worked out are finalized. Certain formalities required by the Election Commission have also to be complied with.
