Press Releases in June

Press release
1. The pathetic sight of Tamil Nadu's elected representatives including Ministers in the centre and state, like headless chicken begging for drops of Cauvery River is a further confirmation of what I had been warning the Tamil electorate: that the Dravidian Movement parties and their parasitic allies in the state enjoy no respect in Delhi or anywhere else in the country, but are treated as cattle to be counted merely as heads in parliament for those in power in Delhi. Tamil Nadu parties should stop degrading the rich and proud Tamil tradition-by begging for Cauvery water, and instead demand allotment of Rs. 1000 crores from their puppet Ministers at the centre to set up desalination of sea water and supply it to the farmers of the Cauvery Delta. Or alternatively, they should resign enmasse so that in the ensuing bye-elections that Tamil electorate can correct for their mistake of having elected spineless MPs.
2. Now that the RSS has given a slap on Vajpayee's face, it is up to him to show that he is not a hypocrite by quitting public life as Bajrang Dal has demanded. Vajpayee is already at the foothills of the Himalayas, and he can continue to stay there at his son-in-law's ill gotten and illegally acquired 5-star hotel, and save the country from his insincere pontifications. While in office Vajpayee did nothing about Narendra Modi. Now that he has lost, he should not behave like a rat on a sinking ship. It will further disgrace him and add to his history of disgraceful behaviour as in Quit India Movement in 1942, during the Emergency during 1975-77, and in the Indian Airlines hijack episode in Kandhahar in 1999.

PRESS RELEASE
I condemn the Congress-led Government’s decision to raise the retail prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas. It was wholly uncalled for at this juncture.
The Government instead should have talked to the oil refining companies to reduce their margins of profit which at present is the highest in the world. These companies therefore can afford to reduce their margins in the public interest.
But perhaps the Manmohan Singh Government lacks the nerve to take on these companies, since the Congress leaders have made under the table sordid deals with them for personal gain at the cost of the people.

PRESS RELEASE
According to news published in the media, the AIADMK has represented to the Election Commission that the large scale deletion of names from the electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu was done by state government employees unduly agitated by the State Government cracking down on their strike against work.
In any case, irrespective of the truth of this charge the Election Commission is obliged to take action against those employees who had deleted these names since it violated the EC’s own order in issued in 1997 by then Chief Election Commissioner Dr.M.S.Gill that no voter should be deleted from the rolls without first giving that voter a show-cause notice. This was not done.
