PRESS RELEASE
Now that the fake sacrifice drama--II of Ms. Sonia Gandhi is over [it is fake since Ms. Gandhi would have had to resign her MP seat anyway and hence it is no sacrifice], it is time to realize that Ms. Gandhi cannot contest any Parliament election until she resigns from the Chairpersonship of five more offices of profit including that of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation.
Ms. Gandhi’s lack of sincere commitment to her Congress Party is also in doubt since by resigning she has made it morally obligatory for the 35 plus Congress MPs also similiarly subject to disqualification from Parliament membership, to resign or alternatively make out that Ms. Gandhi has no party support. Ms. Gandhi as President of the Congress Party ought to have consulted the CWC before rushing to the press.
Ms. Sonia Gandhi has a history of panic reactions in face of challenges to her. In March 1977, after the Janata Party was voted to power, Ms. Gandhi took her two then young children and rushed to the Italian Embassy to hide, thus abandoning her mother-in-law, the defeated Mrs.Indira Gandhi. Thereafter Prime Minister Morarji Desai had to intervene to pacify a distraught Indira and re-unite the family. In April 1999, after the NDA government was toppled by one vote in the Lok Sabha, Ms. Sonia Gandhi rushed to the President of India to stake a claim without a mandate from the coalition of parties that had brought the NDA down, and blandly declared that 272 MPs of the Lok Sabha supported her. She was apprehensive that someone else may become PM. The media-managed sacrifice—I of declining the PM’s post in May 2004 as also a panic reaction after it became clear that she suffered a disqualification under the Citizenship Act.
It is better therefore Ms. Gandhi quits politics altogether now. A leader given to a fit of panic reactions is unfit to lead.

PRESS RELEASE
1. I welcome the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh’s declared goal to usher in capital account convertibility (CAC) of the Rupee. However, Dr.Singh must know that many East Asian economies because of CAC without safeguards, had been ruined during 1997-98 foreign exchange flight.
CAC should not been adopted without safeguards against “hot money” or large portfolio investment in the Stock Market and banks.
2. At present, “hot money” is pouring into India through the sinister device of Participatory Note (PN). Today it accounts for 53 percent of foreign investments in India. The PNs have been given by the Finance Minister, for corrupt reasons, immunity from mandatory disclosure of sources of ownership to the SEBI. Moreover Mr.Chidambaram for an improper motive has exempted the US mutual fund Fidelity Investments from capital gains tax. This company invests heavily in India stock market through PN. Ms.Sonia Gandhi has routed her illegal money abroad through this instrument.
I demand the PM order a probe into PNs and sack his corrupt Finance Minister before bringing in CAC. The SEBI should be empowered to monitor PNs.
3. I have written to PM about Mulla Periyar Dam issue (letter enclosed.)

STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, PRESIDENT OF JANATA PARTY MADE IN CHENNAI ON MARCH 16, 2006
1. It is shocking that the Kerala Assembly has passed a Bill to nullify the Supreme Court order on my petition, to raise the water level of Mulla Periyar Dam [to first to 142 feet from the present 136 feet and subsequently after further repairs on the Dam, to 152 feet]. The Act passed has no legal value and is not legally binding on Tamilnadu.
2. This Act is a betrayal of the solemn promise publicly given in 1979 by the then Chief Minister of Kerala, K.Karunakaran, that when the repairs on the Dam have been carried out, the water level would be restored to 152 feet. The then TN Chief Minister MGR had agreed have the water level lowered on this promise.
3. A committee of world class experts of the Central Water Commission has in 2002 declared that the Dam has been repaired enough to raise the level to 142 feet immediately and 152 feet later.
4. It is the duty of the his successor, Ms.Jayalalitha, to get MGR’s sacrifice redeemed by raising the water level without any delay now.
5. The Tamilnadu people have constantly suffered because their elected representatives in Chennai and New Delhi behave as goats and sheep when it comes to defending the Tamil people’s rights. Even in a simple matter as the statue of Muthuramalinga Thevar in Parliament House or a special stamp for Marudhu Pandiar brothers, these had to be done by me. The arrest on a bogus murder case of the Kanchi Shankaracharya was at the behest of the foreign lady Ms.Sonia Gandhi, and yet the Tamil MPs are unable to raise the matter in Parliament and condemn this atrocity.
6. Hence, the Tamil people, especially the farmers and patriots, should show their resentment in the forthcoming Assembly elections by voting for the Third Front of BJP, JP and other parties.
7. Ms.Sonia Gandhi and the CPM have agreed to obtain the resignation of Dr.Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister by May 2006, end, after he completes two years. They have also agreed on another Congress name for the Prime Ministership.
8. This agreement has been reached because a foreign power influencing both, Ms.Gandhi and the CPM has been greatly agitated at the growing apparent proximity of Dr.Singh with US President George Bush, little realizing that Dr.Singh has been acting at the behest of Ms.Gandhi. As usual, Ms.Gandhi has blamed Dr.Singh and made him a scapegoat when it is her vulnerability to blackmail, on matters of corruption and other nefarious, activities which is responsible for the capitulation of Dr.Singh.
Hence, the patriotic opposition parties should make necessary sacrifices to bring about a new coalition with a majority in Parliament. This re-alignment can take place before the Parliament session adjourns in May this year.

PRESS RELEASE
The UPA Government dejure headed by Dr.Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister, but defacto led by Ms.Sonia Gandhi has been systematically emasculating India’s capacity to pursue independent economic and foreign policy.
The latest evidence is the UPA Government decision to keep Agni III long range missile from being test fired from from Sriharikota range. Agni III, which is positioned at it’s silo since Oct. 2005 is a totally indigenously produced 6000 km range missile (Beijing is within range), that can carry a 20 KT nuclear bomb on its nose cone. It was designed as a part of India’s credible minimum nuclear deterrent.
The Singh-Sonia duo appear to be afraid of annoying two foreign powers, and hence have put the test-firing of Agni III on hold during the last six months much to the frustration of out scientists who have toiled hard for it.
I demand that the opposition parties in Parliament move an adjournment motion on this issue of sell-out of national interests, and urge the President Dr.Kalaam to intervene under Art 78 of the Constitution.

STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, PRESIDENT OF JANATA PARTY MADE IN CHENNAI ON 09.03.2006
1. The Tamil Nadu government is inexplicably delaying raising of the water level of the Mulla Periyar Dam from 136 feet to 142 feet as permitted now by the Supreme court in a petition filed by me in 1998, and judgment delivered on February 28, 2006.
2. The Tamil Nadu government engineers are in possession of the Dam, and can raise the water level just by closing the shutters on the dam.
3. Ms.Jayalalitha as AIADMK Chief Minister should realize that it was because of her mentor, MGR as CM of TN that the then Kerala CM Karunakaran was able to create a panic and get TN to agree to lower the water level to 136 feet from 152 feet in 1979. This panic was created for enabling the Idukki dam to get enough water after deforestation in the area by Kerala landlords had reduced rainfall.
Thus, 240,000 Tamil farmers had to suffer for the sake of Kerala’s selfishness and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MGR innocence.
Hence, Ms.Jayalalitha should not sleep over the matter anymore, and order immediate raise of the water level.
4. The Tamil Nadu voters should also teach a lesson in the coming Assembly elections by voting against all those parties which failed to do anything in Mulla Periyar Dam water level issue.
5. The serial blasts in Varanasi was obviously masterminded from abroad but it is a part of a long term plan of terrorists to derail or disturb India’s democracy, religious amity, and economic development.
6. The Varanasi blast is further confirmation that Hinduism is under siege from nefarious foreign forces. Hindus must unite to demand effective action from Government.
I demand that the PM ask the Indian Airforce planes bomb the terrorist training camps in PoK and Al Qaeda inspired Jamaat Islamiyah conclaves in Bangla Desh in retaliation for the Varanasi blasts.
7. The ruling Congress-led UPA government must take the major share of the blame today because of it’s soft capitulationist approach in dealing with terrorism in the country.
8. This government has weakened the national resolve to fight terrorism by talking to terrorist and pro-terrorist organization without secure preconditions. In Kashmir, those who praise terrorists as ‘freedom fighters’ have been invited to parleys and negotiations with the PM. The same is true for terrorist of Manipur, Nagaland and Andhra Pradesh who are being pampered by the Government. In Tamil Nadu, the Congress Party has entered into an electoral alliance with pro-LTTE parties, which is an internationally condemned terrorist organization for killing Rajiv Gandhi. What message will his widow thus send to the security forces? It will demoralize them.
9. India can combat this organized terrorist violence, not by appeasement or accommodation, but by a strict adherence to ‘zero-tolerance’ policy towards terrorists. For example government should bomb terrorist training camps in Pakistan held Kashmir, Bangla Desh, and Sri Lanka as retaliation whenever there is a serial blast or assassination within India. The Government should declare all notified terrorist organizations as enemies of the nation, and refuse to negotiate with them. Any one allying them or speaking for them should be also declared terrorist.

Re: Hinduism is Under a Siege
1. The serial blasts in Varanasi yesterday evening was obviously masterminded from abroad but it is a part of a long term plan of terrorists to derail or disturb India’s democracy, religious amity, and economic development. The blunt truth is Hinduism is under siege today.
2. The ruling Congress-led UPA government must take the major share of the blame today because of it’s soft capitulationist approach in dealing with terrorism in the country.
3. This government has weakened the national resolve to fight terrorism by talking to terrorist and pro-terrorist organization without secure preconditions. PRESS RELEASE
1. US President Bush should not take the protest meetings in New Delhi seriously since it is organized by the Communist Party (Marxist). The CPM is holding these protests at the behest of a foreign power, which are aimed at souring the relations of the two democracies, US and India and prevent the coming together of both countries to mutually enhance global economic development.
2. However, President Bush be forewarned not to press India to sign the presently drafted Indo-US Nuclear deal. Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Ms.Sonia Gandhi have lost the respect of all patriotic Indians, because the PM is recognized as a spineless bureaucrat, while Ms.Gandhi is perceived as vulnerable to international blackmail for her past misdeeds. Hence her capitulation in this issue will do not credit to US diplomacy.

STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, RESIDENT OF JANATA PARTY,
MADE IN CHENNAI ON MARCH 1, 2006.
1. I am happy that the Supreme Court has finally settled the pending matter of the water level of the Mulla Periyar Dam, and hope the Kerala government will now not torture the Tamil Nadu farmers any further ad accept the verdict. In 1979 the then Chief Minister Mr.K.Karunakaran had promised that when the Dam is repaired, Kerala will agree to re-raise the water level back to 152 feet. Now Kerala must keep it's solemn promise. Hence, the present CM Oomen Chandy should refrain from threatening not to implement the Supreme Court Order. The DMK Chief Karunanidhi and the 39 MPs elected from Tamil Nadu should not behave like goats and sheep, and instead protest to the UPA Chairperson Ms. Gandhi to restrain Mr. Chandy. I also demand the immediate resignation from Parliament membership of the Madurai MP Mr. Mohan for doing nothing all these years despite promising to take up the matter with his party in Kerala. The alphabets MP should not mean Muckku Plaster.
2. With this victory, I have implemented all the major promises I had made to the Madurai electorate in 1998, viz., bringing internet and mobile phones to Madurai, setting up a High Court Bench, installing Muthuramalinga Thevar statue in Parliament House, and Mulla Periyar Dam. I had also got the Centre to agree to make Madurai airport as Muthuramalinga Thevar international airport, but the AIADMK government had written to the Centre that they would not agree to it. This was cheap jealousy and a part of the cultural trait of all Dravidian movement parties, whether AIADMK, DMK or any other not to let any others to work and claim credit if the work is done anyway.
3. The Tamil Nadu Janata Party's Election Committee will meet under the chairpersonship of Ms.V.S.Chandralekha on March 5th in Chennai to finalise the electoral strategy of the party. The Janata Party has proposed to the BJP that the two parties should work together in the forthcoming elections. A reply is awaited. Kakkan Vishwanathan and I will be attending the meeting as invitees.
4. I condemn the AIADMK-DPI alliance as anti-national since DPI is led by a stooge of the LTTE. During the last two years, Thirumavalavan has shamelessly espoused the cause of the LTTE disregarding India’s national interest.
5. This alliance also power that Ms.Jayalalitha claim to fight the LTTE is bogus. For her any degradation is acceptable as long as she can come to power. The patriotic people of Tamilnadu will teach her a lesson in the coming elections.

STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, PRESIDENT OF THE JANATA PARTY MADE IN CHENNAI ON THE UNION BUDGET
The 2006-07 Budget is a boring directionless document presented by a Finance Minister who clearly seems bankrupt of ideas.
More that 75 percent of the promises made in the last Budget (20205-06) for the year have not been fulfilled. For example allocation for Rs.10,000 crores for Tsunami victims rehabilitation is less than Rs.950 crores. Not a single of the six AIMS type medical institute has been set up. Nor anything done for providing quality drinking water for 2.2 lakh habitations per year.
In the meantime, foreign exchange reserves have fallen for the first time in several years. The warrant account in balance of payments has become negative for the first time in 3 years.
There was no need to have taxed personal computers or internet telephony, and reduced excise on the Italian dish ‘pasta’.
Most of the new levies are retrograde including the increase in service tax. Why have lawyers been kept out of this tax net?
Time has arrived for the people to kick out Mr.Chidambaram from the Finance Ministry. Otherwise the economy will go bankrupt.
