	Press Release in April 2006 30.04.2006 PRESS RELEASE I condemn the dastardly killing of Mr.Suryanarayanan in Afghanistan by the terrorist outfit the Taliban. The Government of India claiming to represent a billion plus people must retaliate for this killing of an innocent citizen. I demand that the Prime Minister send two divisions of the Indian army and a squandron of the Airforce to Afghanistan to hunt for the Taliban and destroy them. Muslim organizations in particular within India cannot at this hour of sorrow for the nation keep silent. They must condemn the killing and come out to protest the dastardly act. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 29.04.2006 PRESS RELEASE I demand that the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh order the cancellation of the FM radio licence given to Kalanidhi Maran, the CEO of the SUN TV. The licence was given to broadcast music through the radio and within a range of 5 kilo metres only. However my investigations reveal that the Suryan FM radio’s range, in violation of the licence’s mandatory requirements has been extended to a radius from Coimbatore to Kodaikanal and from Chennai to Kanchipuram. Suryan FM radio can also be heard through Maran- owned SCV on channels in our TV sets which is also violation of the law and conditions of the licence. The Ministry of Telecom should have taken action to put a stop to these illegalities and unauthorized encroachment on air space, which deny Government of its due revenue. But due to the fact that Kalanidhi Maran’s brother Dayanidhi is the Minister, this due action by the Ministry has been stalled and aborted. This is a gross-violation of Section 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act by the Maran brothers. The Prime Minister should therefore sack Dayanidhi Maran from the Telecom Ministership since he has recklessly violated all norms and rules of conduct as a Minister, and has shamelessly flouted the rules of conflict of interest in his duty as Minister. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 27.04.2006 Press Release Based on prima facie evidence from uncontradicted uncontested media reports and verified information on the DTH issue, I demand that the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan institute a CBI inquiry into the activities of the Maran brothers i.e., the SUN TV CEO Kalanidhi and Telecom Minister Dayanidhi, in committing offences of coercion under sections of the IPC, and conflict of interest violation (Sections 11 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption). The offence of coercion arises from the demand of Mr.Kalanidhi Maran made to DTH licencee Mr.Ratan Tata to part with one-third of his 20 percent share and half the Star TV’s 80 per cent share at promotor’s price, and the threat by Dayanidhi Maran of “furnishing off” Mr.Tata if he fails to comply with his brother’s demand. The conflict of interest violation takes place because the spectrum band with which to access the satellite for DTH transmission, is allotted by the Telecom Ministry on the Minister’s approval, who happens to be Kalanidhi’s brother. The SUN TV network is already a menace to press freedom in Tamil Nadu. They have swallowed the cable TV network, and are on the way to gobble up the mobile phone network. Acquiring DTH would enable them to brain wash the rural people of Tamil Nadu with their anti-national and pro-LTTE propaganda. The sister networks of SUN TV have also acquired a presence in other southern state. Hence in the interest of democracy, purity in public life, and eradication of corruption, a CBI inquiry is necessary. I am accordingly filing a complaint with the CBI, and will approach the courts if the, PM does not direct the CBI to do its statutory duty for fully investigating the matter. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, PRESIDENT OF JANATA PARTY MADE IN CHENNAI ON 23.04.2006 When a newspaper in Denmark published an offensive cartoon caricaturing the Prophet of Islam, the Prime Minister of India Dr.Manmohan Singh called up the Denmark Prime Minister to object to the publication of the cartoon. But when on April 21, 2006, the Malaysian Islamic Government demolished the 100 year old Malaimel Sri Selva Kaliamman temple in Kuala Lumpur with bull dozers with just one day notice of demolition, and even while 300 devotees were praying [see The Hindu, April 22, 2006], the Prime Minister did not even issue a statement, much less call up the Malaysian PM. This temple is the second Hindu temple that has been bulldozed in recent months. The earlier demolition was of a Krishna Temple in Moscow under the pressure of the Russian Orthodox Catholic Church. The Janata Party has been condemning the UPA ‘secularism’ as a one-way obligation. What is to be recognized today is that Hindus are under a siege from nefarious international forces with the complicity of the UPA-led Ms.Sonia Gandhi, a foreign Christian of doubtful commitment to the civilization of India. Hence Hindus must today unite as one to fight this siege and save the ancient civilization. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, PRESIDENT OF JANATA PARTY MADE IN CHENNAI ON 23.04.2006 1. As per requirements of Section 36 of the Representation of People’s Act (1951), I was authorized to be present for scrutiny of nominations in the by-elections to Rae Bareli’s constituency of Lok Sabha on April 21, 2006. A violent crowd of Congress Party hoodlums blocked my entry to the Returning Officer’s Office, damaged the vehicle I was traveling in, and appeared to be in a murderous mood to ensure that I did not enter. Since the police did nothing I decided to return. 2. I returned to Lucknow therefore. But as soon as I reached my suite in the VVIP Guest House, about 30 Congress Party hoodlums raising filthy slogans invaded the premises and tried to break down the front door of my suite in order to enter and commit violent acts. My party workers resisted from inside the suite the opening of the door. After about 10 minutes, the DM Lucknow arrived with full force and cleared the mob. He suo moto directed a FIR to be registered, a copy of which was later handed over to the Janata Party. 3. It is quite clear, that a free and fair poll in Rae Bareli cannot take place without Indian army presence. The Gandhi clan have created an atmosphere of terror in the constituency. 4. I urge the EC to cancel the Rae Bareli by poll and issue a fresh notification for the poll for mid-June, with Indian army deployment. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) April 22, 2006 Press Release I demand a written apology from Ms Sonia Gandhi the Rae Bareli by-poll candidate for directing through former Minister Mr. Satish Sharma and Mr. Sanjay Singh, a lynch mob of Congress hoodlums with murderous intent against me yesterday in front of the Collectorate in Rae Bareli. I had gone there to file objections against Ms. Sonia Gandhi’s nomination seeking rejection of the same but the violent mob blocked my entry. Sonia Gandhi’s name is not in the records of the Union Home Ministry as having being registered as a citizen of India If however she claims to be Antonia Maino Gandhi who was given a flawed citizenship certificate on April 29, 1983, then she must prove that to be so with proof before the Returning Officer. The place of birth of Ms. Sonia Gandhi according to the Lok Sabha’s Who’s Who is Orbassano, while according to a letter sent by the Italian Ambassador, Antonia’ is in far away Luciana on the Swiss border. This discrepancy must be also explained by Ms.Sonia Gandhi at the time of scrutiny. Later that evening, 35 Congress hoodlums tried to forcibly enter my suite in the VVIP Government Guest House in Lucknow by breaking down the door, and seeking to murder me. Because of my Party workers and later the Lucknow District Magistrate, the mobs were chased away. A suo moto FIR has been filed by the UP Government. If Ms. Gandhi does not apologize in writing for the Congress mob murderous attack on me, and the Government machinery does do its statutory duty of prosecuting the Congress hoodlums, I shall be obliged to retaliate within the democratic framework and the Hindu religious code of Apat Dharma (Morality in a crisis). I warn Ms. Gandhi: apologize or face the consequences of your terror tactics. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) STATEMENT OF DR.SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY, PRESIDENT OF JANATA PARTY MADE IN CHENNAI ON 20.04.2006 1. The Telecom Minister Mr.Dayanithi Maran and his brother Kalanithi, have according to the Income Tax records about Rs.10,000 crores worth of movable and immovable assets. Their assets are doubling every three years. 2. The question is how without any gainful employment or educational background, these two brothers accumulated so much money, violating sections 11 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. 3. The modus operandi is to use the Sun TV as a front, and through the following companies: (1) Network Cable Solutions Pvt Ltd., (2) Kal Communications (3) Kal Exim (4) Chanel Plus, they have siphoned off the funds to their personal account. 4. A good part of the wealth of the Karunanidhi – Maran group is in form of real estate and land in Malaysia and Mauritius. 5. I am therefore filing for an official copy of the IT assessment orders issued to the Maran family under the Right to Information Act and then file a private complaint under the PCA. 6. The Finance Minister Mr.Chidambaram has a long record of brutalizing the Schedule Castes and Muslims, which need to be brought out now. 7. In 1963, when he was a student in Presidency College, he blocked fellow student Mr.Vishwanathan Kakkan (now JP-BJP candidate from Perambur) from sitting in a group photograph of the college sports team on the ground that Kakkan was a scheduled caste. 8. In 1987, he as Minister of State for Home Affairs he directed the UP Chief Minister to carry out genocide against Muslim youths in Hashimpura and Malliana areas of Meerut. Forty six young Muslim boys were picked up in a PAC truck, driven to a canal nearby and shot dead one by one, their bodies dumped into the canal (called Gang Nehar). There is a Home Ministry report still in the files documenting the incident. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 18/04/2006 PRESS RELEASE The Janata Party advocates cell in Uttar Pradesh will seek the rejection of Ms.Sonia Gandhi’s nomination for contesting as a candidate in the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha by-poll on the ground of admitted perjury. In her 2004 nomination papers Ms.Sonia Gandhi had claimed in a sworn affidavit that she had been ‘educated in the University of Cambridge’. The University in three separate letters to NRIs (with copy to me) had denied Ms.Sonia Gandhi was ever admitted as a student in the University, much less “educated” there. In her nomination filed yesterday, Ms.Sonia Gandhi now claims in her affidavit that she received ‘a certificate in English’ from Lennox Cook School in the city of Cambridge, U.K. First of all, this is an admission of perjury, and hence she has confessed to a crime committed u/s 177 of the IPC, and 125A of the Representation of People’s Act (1951). These two offences together carry a punishment of three years. Secondly, the 2006 claim of education is rubbish because the so-called Lennox Cook School is not recognized by the Board of Education U.K. as a educational institution empowered to award certificates. It has closed down in 1985. My inquiries reveal that it is a fly-by night shop to enable poor Italian and Spanish girls to learn enough English to get jobs as cooks and waitresses. It is by no means an education recognized by any academic standard. What Ms.Sonia Gandhi must honestly admit that she is an uneducated person. No Indian voter will object to such an honest admission. If she can lie about her ‘education’, what else has been lying about her past? The five Janata Party candidates for the coming Assembly elections will file their nominations tomorrow. The party expects to win all five seats, and in alliance with BJP hopes to be the balancing force in the next Assembly. It will represent the first time after decades a truly national patriotic voice in the TN Assembly. Ms.V.S.Chandralekha, the state JP President, will file for the Mylapore seat at 12 Noon, after addressing a gathering outside the perimeter of the Kapaleeswarar Temple at 10.30 AM. 2. The UPA chairperson Ms. Sonia Gandhi is expected to file from Rae Bareli the same day. If she commits the same perjury as in 2004, when she falsely claimed to have been educated in the University of Cambridge [she has not even passed high school], then the Janata Party will challenge her nomination at the scrutiny stage on 21st. 3. The UPA government's Health Minister, Mr.Anbumani has brought international shame on the country by indulging in corruption in a prestigious World Bank project on child health. In disgust, the World Bank President Mr.Wolfowitz has written to the Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh informing him of the decision of the Bank to cancel the financing of the project. I demand that the Prime Minister repair India's international reputation by immediately sacking the Union Health Minister, Mr.Anbumani. 4. Similiarly, UPA Finance Minister P. Chidambaram has committed a corrupt act by receiving remuneration as Director of Vedanta Resources, a UK based company, and that too, in foreign exchange of 23,000 pounds sterling and not reporting it in his income tax returns. There was also a conflict of interest violative of Section 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act in that as Minister he had overseen the Balco transactions while earlier being the advocate of Sterlite, the major share buyer of Balco. 5. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms.Jayalalitha claims that the state was best administered during her tenure as CM. According to a survey conducted by the National Council of Applied Economic Research, the diversion of foodgrains and kerosene at the FPS to the open market is as high as 15.66% and 46.40% respectively. Unemployment rate and rural poverty is very high in the state despite Tamil Nadu being traditionally relatively highly educated. 6. The Maran brothers require to be prosecuted in a disproportionate assets case because of the huge payments made by them to [1] Invest in DTH [2] Launch a FM radio [3] Buy out a mobile phone company [4] purchase an incomplete Oberoi owned hotel [re-vamping a newspaper [5] Buy out Karunanidhi & family in Sun TV. All these transactions together require about Rs.2000 crores of personal investment besides collateral based loans from banks. Considering the Maran brothers have never done a day's honest work in their life nor are educated enough to earn high salaries in any decent employment, where are they getting these crores and crores of rupees? I demand a CBI probe. The CBI should begin by first questioning Sun TV's original auditor Sivasubramanian, and then Kotak Company in Mumbai. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 10.04.2006 PRESS RELEASE The Janata Party, in alliance in the state with BJP and other parties, will begin it’s election campaign formally after its candidates file their nominations on 19^th. The two Dravidian Movement fronts, one led by AIADMK and another by DMK, are campaigning in their election purely by making promises for the future. They are totally silent about their total lack of performance in the past 40 years of misrule. These promises therefore are false and bogus. The DMK President Mr.Karunanidhi has made some ridiculous promises including distributing colour TVs free which will mean giving away 100 percent of the total annual national production of TVs. Is he going import these TVs? Has he made some kick-back payoff agreement for this with some South Korean electronics company? The AIADMK leader Ms.Jayalalitha is complaining about the lack of law and order in the state during the polls. Does she realize that she as CM of the state is responsible for maintaining law & order? It is to give the Tamil people an alternative to the make-believe fraud politics of the Dravidian movement parties that the JP-BJP alliance has been formed. The people should vote for this alliance because it’s candidates are well educated, experienced, patriotic and corruption-free. The Janata Party has already demonstrated what it can do for the people. The solution to the Mulla Periyar issue, the setting up of a High Court Bench in Madurai, and installing the statue of Muthuramalinga Thevar in Parliament are examples of what the party can do. The JP-BJP MLAs if voted will change the culture of politics in Tamil Nadu and bring back honesty to public affairs. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 08.04.2006 PRESS RELEASE 1. The decision of the UPA government to require the IITs, IIMs, and private non-minority run higher educational institutions, to make reservations in admissions for the backward classes is a part of a sinister international conspiracy to further divide, undermine and ultimately destroy the Hindu society. The intention behind the decision becomes clear when we realise that the reservation order will not apply to Christian and Islamic run institutions, nor would it bar the two religious minorities from being included in the backward class quotas applicable in non-minority run educational establishments. Nor will it apply in universities set up by foreign educational institutions. 2. Therefore this policy is to demoralise the bright Hindu students and discourage innovative minds from the Hindu community for pursuing higher studies, to drive them abroad or convert from the Hindu faith to the Islamic and Christian religion. It is like the jezia tax imposed by the Mughal kings on Hindus. 3. As a former Professor I can say that backward class students cannot be uplifted by quotas but by providing scholarships and free tuition to non-creamy layer students to compete. Mere admission into IITs and IIMs will not do. Rahul Gandhi MP had got into Harvard on the donor's quota, but failed. He had to drop out in the first year itself. This was because he lacked the necessary IQ to compete at Harvard once admitted. 4. This reservation order is thus clearly aimed at the Hindu society, and the only answer to it is Hindu consolidation and a mindset to vote as Hindus in the forthcoming elections. I condemn the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh for betraying nation in order to kwo-tow to a foreign Christian leader of his. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 04.04.2006 PRESS RELEASE The Janata-BJP alliance in the state of Tamil Nadu is (1) to enable the Hindu to stand up, and fight the insults heaped on them by the Dravidian Movement parties (2) to elect MLAs who are not goats and sheep (3) to fight for the due share of Tamil Nadu in national investment (4) oppose terrorism and expose Ms.Sonia Gandhi as a national security risk (5) to liberate the farmers from poverty, indebtedness and misery. A detailed manifesto will release on April 14^th by the party. The Janata Party is also fighting two seats in Kerala, one in Trichur and another in Kasargod. The party’s stand in Kerala is (1) End slavery status of Hindus in the State (2) Industrialize the State by introducing economic reforms (3) Make Cochin a free port to attract FDI. In Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK and DMK Fronts have failed during the last 40 years to develop the state. Only corruption has developed in the state. Both have compromised with terrorism. They have failed to discharge their responsibility in the Mulla Periyar Dam issue, and could not even get Muthuramalinga Thevar’s statue installed in Parliament House.
