	Press Release in June 2006 28.06.2006 PRESS RELEASE The remarks of Mr.Balasingham, the ideologue of the banned terrorist outfit the LTTE, made to an Indian news TV channel on the perfidious assassination of India's former Prime Minister Mr.Rajiv Gandhi is incredibly stupid and an insult to the nation. His description of that dastardly act in Sriperumbudur in May 1991 as a "monumental historical tragedy" is silly and may be indicative of dementia developing in him as a consequence of the almost complete international isolation of his murderous organisation. Besides Rajiv Gandhi, the LTTE has also killed Padmanabha of EROS on Indian soil. It has shot dead in cold blood numerous pro-Indian Tamil political leaders such as Sabaratnam of TELO Amritalingham, Yogeswaran, and Neelam Thiruchelvam. In May 1991 the LTTE supremo also directed Murugan, now in death row in Vellore jail for Rajiv Gandhi's murder, to assassinate S.C.Chandrahasan, a prominent non-violent worker for the welfare of Sri Lankan refugees in India. But it failed. Even today the LTTE maintains a hit list of all those, mostly pro-Indian, who refuse to bow to their murderous dictates. Time has arrived now to recognise that the LTTE is part of the problem of the strife in Sri Lanka, and can never be a part of the solution. The solution is a federal or quasi-federal Constitution to replace the present unitary one in the island, to adopt which no further negotiations are necessary. In a plural polity and democracy, terrorist organisations like the LTTE have no place. Hence, there is no value to the stupid rantings of Mr.Balasingham. He has insulted India further by calling the assassination as a "tragedy". Mother India lost Rajiv in the prime of his youth with decades ahead of service to the nation. It was not a tragedy but a dastardly murder and an open challenge to the sovereignty and self-respect of India. Patriotic Indians can never rest till the culprits including those who motivated the LTTE to do this vulgar mean deed, are brought to justice or justice brought to them. For some mysterious reason to be fathomed by a future inquiry, the Government of India under Ms.Sonia Gandhi's influence, has been pussyfooting with the Tamil Tigers. The Centre has failed to carry out the 1999 Supreme Court judgment to hang four LTTE/DK conspirators in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination. It has made feeble noises from time to time to extradite V.Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman, the top two of the outfit, but did little else. The widow of Rajiv Gandhi and the prime beneficiary of his assassination, Ms.Sonia Gandhi, has legitimised pro-LTTE political parties in India by openly allying with them in elections and sharing power in government. It is time for the Congress Party to prove it's bonafides in the assassination by despatching a commando unit with GPS locator to hunt for Prabhkaran and his associates, and bring them to trial in India. The courtroom is the forum where the LTTE can apologise, and not in hiding somewhere in Europe or in Jaffna peninsula and on NDTV. If Balasingham wants to do something constructive, let him advise Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman in the larger interest of Tamils to surrender before the Indian Embassy in Colombo. If they do, India will be obliged to protect the Tamils in the Island. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 26.06.2006 Press Release The night of June 25th thirty one years ago and it's aftermath cannot be forgotten by any patriotic democratic Indian. Not only was there was the imposition of an bogus Emergency proclamation that meant a 140,000 opponents of the Congress Party being jailed without any reason, but that all the suffering thus caused by the then Prime Minister Mrs.Indira Gandhi was merely and selfishly to protect her position in office. Nor can we forget the glorious revolt by the youth around the country who braved arrest and torture to distribute underground literature and news to beat the censorship. The struggle against the Emergency also exposed those in the Opposition who had feet of clay and had wilted under the threat of imprisonment. Many had signed apology letters addressed to Mrs. Gandhi. But the trend towards democracy the world over began the day the Emergency was defeated in India spearheaded by Jayaprakash Narayan, by Morarji Desai's defiance and refusal to compromise while in jail. The Indian masses also revolted through the ballot box. Nor can the nation forget the contribution of the RSS especially of the late Shri.Madhavrao Muley, Dattopant Thengadi, and Moropant Pingale who bravely organised the underground network for twenty months of the Emergency, which network finally helped the newly formed Janata Party to sweep out the guilty Congress party from office in the General Elections to Lok Sabha. But like the virus, the authoritarian mentality however still lingers in the Congress Party. The assault against freedom today is more subtle than in 1975. It is piecemeal and hence not so jarring for a nation used to misrule of governments. But the manifestation of the threat to democracy is clear: as in the arrest on a bogus case foisted on Kanchi Shankaracharya, in the reckless dismissal or swearing in of state governments, in Income Tax harassments of unwilling movie stars, in crass tapping of telephones of political opponents, in the deliberate pandering to terrorist forces by fruitlessly negotiating with them, brazenly being corrupt even in humanitarian projects, etc.. Hence, remembering the Emergency vividly today is essential for the nurturing of democracy in India. It also calls for the re-unification of all parties that were together to fight the Emergency. The Karnataka Congress Party through its former Chief Minister has asked the Election Commission to prosecute the present Karnataka CM, Mr.Kumaraswamy for a false affidavit on ownership of land that he filed with his nomination papers during the 2004 Assembly elections. This demand of the Congress Party is a strange double standard because on my Writ Petition filed before the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court demanding prosecution of Ms.Sonia Gandhi for filing a false affidavit about her educational qualification, the UPA Government’s Additional Solicitor General, Mr.K.Nigam has taken the exact opposite stand by stating that only an election petition can be filed and that too by a voter of Rae Bareli. Let the Congress Party explain whether now they will ask the ASG to support maintainability of my petition in the High Court in Lucknow. 2. I demand that the Union Government inform the Tamil Nadu Government not to permit the pro-LTTE rally being organized by the LTTE propagandist Mr.Vaiko, the LTTE stooge Nedumaran and the traitor K.Veeramani of the Dravida Kazhagam. These three unholy musketeers of the LTTE should instead migrate to Sri Lanka to liberate the Tamils in the island, if they have no time for the poor suffering Indian people. The LTTE is an anti-Indian internationally condemned terrorist organization which is responsible for the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. The Centre should advise the use of the National Security Act to restrain these three LTTE agents. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) June 13, 2006 Statement of Dr. Subramanian Swamy, President of the Janata Party 1. I demand that the Union Government set up an Expert Commission to determine if Jesus Christ had received spiritual education in India, and had become a Mahayana Buddhist Bodhisattva monk. The Commission should hold open hearings to determine whether after Cruxification, Jesus Christ returned to Kashmir, lived till the age of eighty, and was buried in the Khaniyar area of Srinagar, J&K, where his remains are said to be interred in a grave in a tomb. I visited that grave recently while in Srinagar. 2. The Hemis Gompa monastry near Leh in Ladakh is said to have a large number of Buddhist documents which vividly describe the presence of Jesus Christ in Kashmir. So do the official chronicles of Kashmir Kings, Shalivahana and Kanishka. The Bhavisya Purana also contains slokas which refer to Jesus Christ’s stay in India. 3. The Bible does not therefore accurately reflect the Buddhist teachings of Jesus Christ. Instead the Bible is more the interpolation of St. Paul. Hence Christianity may be properly instead re-named as Paulinism, and not after Christ. 4. The Naveen Hindustan Foundation of which I am the Managing Trustee proposes to set up a Rs.1 crore research project to fund scholars who want to establish the truth, if any, of the widely held view in Kashmir that Jesus Christ was a Mahayana Buddhist. Hence, Christ became a Hindu, and hence that the present day Christian religion does not accurately reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ. 5. That Jesus Christ was a Buddhist was first documented by a Russian scholar Nicolas Notovich in 1887. Later in 1986 Dr. Holger Kersten, a German theologian wrote a book Jesus lived in India bringing Notovich’s research upto date. Many other scholars have also worked on it. Recently, noted scholar Suzanna Olsson has authored a book titled: Jesus, Last King of Kashmir; Life After Cruxification, stating the same conclusions. 6. With the recent revelation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and National Geographic findings on Judas, time has come to question the true identity of Jesus Christ. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) June 6, 2006 PRESS RELEASE I condemn the reckless and wanton hike in petrol and diesel prices by the UPA Government. The hike will induce further inflation and demand for neutralizing wage increases and rise in freight & travel costs. The UPA Government’s claim is spurious that petrol and diesel prices have to be raised to compensate for rise in international prices of crude oil. Then how is it that the price of petrol is only Rs.18.73 per litre in China? In fact the ex-refinery cost of petrol in India is only Rs.18.10 per litre and diesel Rs.19.75 per litre. The current retail prices are all padded up by levies of excise, additional excise, education cess, sales tax etc. The UPA claim to represent the ‘aam aadmi’ (common folk) has been exposed as fraud. It is anti-people especially anti-middle class and anti-farmers. Also exposed are the Left Front parties as impotent allies, who make noise but lack guts to stand by the poor people when it is required. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY ) June 3, 2006 PRESS RELEASE The DMK government has restored today Kannagi’s statue to its Marina Beach pedestal from where it had been removed earlier by the AIADMK government. However, the TN CM Mr.Karunanidhi’s responsibility to the memory of the valiant Tamil heroine Kannagi does not end there. He must now propagate to his allies the message of Kannagi, which is that a true wife will leave no stone unturned to avenge her husband whose life has been unfairly deprived life taken away. I hope therefore Mr.Karunanidhi will educate Ms.Sonia Gandhi about Kannagi when he meets her on June 5^th. Ms.Sonia Gandhi appears to have gone soft on the LTTE which had killed her husband, and thus forgotten to bring Prabhakaran the LTTE leader, to justice. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) June 2, 2006 PRESS RELEASE The attempt by the suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist yesterday to blow up the RSS headquarters in Nagpur should be an eye-opener for all patriotic Indians, and Hindus in particular. The aim of these Islamic terrorists apparently to seize the RSS headquarters, kill the Sangh Swayamsevaks and leaders inside, and blow up the building to demonstrate is a part of the overall objective to demean, demoralize and overpower Hindu ethos of India. The aim misfired because of good intelligence and alertness of the Maharashtra Police. But this cannot be taken as granted in the future. RSS is viewed as the only social organization of Hindus from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, and hence targeting of it by foreign terrorist forces is inevitable. The lessons patriotic Indians must learn today therefore is that (1) we must never negotiate peace with terrorists. Terrorists take negotiations as appeasement, and it emboldens them to commit more atrocities. The Lashkar-e-Toiba, we should remember, is the organization founded by one of the three terrorists released in the negotiations in Kandhahar IA hijack in 1999 (2) We must also learn to retaliate whenever terrorists attack us. I therefore demand that the Union Government give up its policy of appeasement of terrorists. Today it must retaliate by sending a squadron of IAF to bomb the terrorists training camps in POK which camps the Defense Minister Mr.Mukherjee says exist. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY)
