	PRESS RELEASE IN DECEMBER 2006 20.12.2006 PRESS RELEASE The DMK led Tamil Nadu government is playing the fool with the people of the state on the Mullaperiyar Dam’s water level issue. On my petition the Supreme Court had on February 23, 2006 already permitted the immediate raising of the water level to 1`42 feet, and later to raising to its original level of 152 feet. But the then AIADMK government did not move to implement the Supreme Court order because Ms.Jayalalitha did not want to annoy Ms.Sonia Gandhi, since the Congress party was in power in Kerala. Since DMK came into office they have been making with the aim to postpone the raising cosmetic moves. The present decision of the DMK government to go back to the Supreme Court is at best an insincere but delaying tactic, and at the worst a ploy to make the Supreme Court modity the earlier order to make it more favourable to Kerala. The DMK is thus sinister conspiracy with the CPM in Kerala to scuttle the hard-fought victory that I got for Tamil farmer through the Supreme Court. Hence, if the Chief Minister Mr.Karunanidhi does not implement the Supreme Court order to raise the water level of the Mullaperiyar Dam to 142 feet by January 14, 2007, Pongal Day, I shall launch an agitation of farmers in the state. Mr.Karunanidhi instead of going back to the Supreme Court should threaten, as he did in the Neyveli Privatization matter, to withdraw from the UPA. If he can do so for 3000 workers of Neyveli, he can more easily do for 300,000 farmers and their families of five southern districts of Tamilnadu, and for drinking water for Madurai. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 20.12.2006 PRESS RELEASE I condemn the condolence functions arranged in Chennai yesterday as also the sorrow expressed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.Karunanidhi on the death of the LTTE terrorist Anton Stanilaus alias Balasingham. Balasingham was a terrorist who at least once has publicly and arrogantly taken pride in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi. In 1995, he had warned the then President of Sri Lanka, Ms.Chandirka Kumaratunge that she would face the same fate as Rajiv Gandhi if she confronted the LTTE. Therefore it is shocking that Mr.Karunanidhi should state that “His (Balasingham’s) demise is an irreparable loss” and for the LTTE advocates such as Vaiko and Nedumaran to shed tears for him. Hence the Tamil people of India should beware of these anti-national LTTE stooges Ms.Sonia Gandhi should explain whether her political alliance partner, Mr.Karunanidhi is expressing her sentiments too on Balasingham’s demise. Her recently published letter to the TN CM is a thinly veiled support for the LTTE, by one sidedly referring to the killing of innocent women and children by the Sri Lankan armed forces.” (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) December 13, 2006 PRESS RELEASE The recent stock market crash has been engineered by those forces who have been active since Harshad Mehta’s heydays in 1992 in manipulating the shares purchase and sales. The primary responsibility for the latest rigged crash devolves on the Finance Minister Mr.P.Chidambaram, who is the most corrupt Finance Minister in the history of India. His remarks that inflation is “unacceptably high”, “that interest rates will rise” because of CRR was being raised, and that Participatory Notes will not be banned despite Tarajure Committee recommendation triggered the downward slide in the bourse. It was timed for the windfall gains from buying in June this year and selling last week. Hence the CBI must be asked by the PM to investigate who owns the eight companies that have amassed Rs.4000 crore in profiteering by short-selling shares. Two of these companies can be traced to have links with Chidambaram. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 11.12.2006 PRESS RELEASE 1. It is good that the Trichy Police Commissioner has rectified the FIR by deleting the name of the revered Swami Dayanand Sarasvati. The FIR was registered by the Srirangam Police Station after the alleged damage, by miscreants of the E.V.Ramaswamy Naicker’s as yet unveiled statue. The Swamiji’s name was included in the FIR as an accused merely because he had issued a statement condemning the installing the statue in front of the Ranganathaswamy temple entrance. 2. The DK has been engaging in violent activities since then against idols in temples of at least five districts, and attacking innocent Brahmins doing pooja. It is time for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.Karunanidhi to issue a warning to the DK leader Ki.Veermani to desist from such lawless activities, or face a ban on the DK. It is also high time for Mr.Veeramani to realize that 21^st century is not the same as 1960s and 1970s. Hindus of Tamil Nadu of today are no more passive individualists of the past. They are ready to be organized as witnessed by the VHP’s Hindu Protection Conference held in Erode on March 17^th to 19^th earlier this year. Since, enlightened Hindus of today are 83 per cent of the Indian population and an all India community, and the DK is a microscopic organization confined to some parts of Tamil Nadu only, hence the DK should not provoke Hindus wantonly. It will boomerang on them. Mr.K.Veeramani also should realize that on my complaint in 2001 the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi had got the ‘Periyar Memorial’, constructed by the DK near the Delhi airport, demolished. At that time nobody came to his rescue, even though the DK’s sympathizers were Ministers in the NDA government. Hence the DK should adopt only legal and democratic means to oppose the Hindus of Tamil Nadu. Violence by DK if not controlled and punished by the State Government, will call for an all India Hindu response against the DK, which will prove very costly for that anti-national LTTE stooge outfit. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 06.12.2006 PRESS RELEASE The Singur farmland acquisition by the CPM-led West Bengal government for sale to Tata Motor Company is a fraud on the people and a thoroughly corrupt deal. It deserves to be scrapped and re-negotiated with full transparency by Mr. Ratan Tata. My investigations reveal that much of the Singur farmland was given to the tiller in the earlier Barqa movement led by the Left parties. While the land did go to the tillers because of the movement, the patta was given to the CPM office-bearer of the area. Hence, the farmers were always hostage to the CPM, and had to vote for the Left Front in the elections to keep their land. Today in the Tata sale, the farmers are mute observers while the CPM cadre posing as the farm owners are telling the media that they are happy with the sale. Hence, Mamta Banerjee is doing a patriotic duty by actively opposing this deal. I urge Rata Tata to by-pass the CPM led government appointed benamis , and directly approach the real tillers for a re-negotiated deal. Top of Form (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) December 3, 2006 Press Release It was in the interest of dispensing justice that the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has recently stayed the Dravida Kazhagam's plan to erect a statue of E.V.Ramaswamy Naicker opposite the hoary Srirangam Temple. The DK's aim is not to honour the memory of EVR but to create tension in Tamil Nadu so that their masters, the terrorist LTTE can benefit from it and infiltrate into the state again. EVR had opposed all religions and hence the true followers of this atheistic creed should instal his statue in front of mosques and churches also. Instead, the DK is psychotic about Hindu religion and has reduced EVR's message from that of an atheist to an anti-Hindu rabble rouser. No democratic nation believing in the rule of law can permit such slander against the Hindu religion. The DK should realise that Hindus are 83 percent of India, and the day they decide to unite against such psychosis, the DK for relief will have to run away to LTTE controlled Jaffna peninsula, which relief will also be temporary since it is a matter of time before the LTTE is finished off or surrenders. I strongly condemn this anti-Hindu behaviour of the DK and urge all Hindus of Tamil Nadu as well as those Muslims and Christians who accept that their ancestors are Hindus to unitedly oppose this traitorous behaviour of the DK. (SUBRAMANIAN SWAMY) 01.12.2006 PRESS RELEASE Disfiguring of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar’s statue is work of anti-national elements. They must be sternly dealt with. Dr.Ambedkar was a great intellectual, and his contribution to Independence struggle can be regarded superior to Jawaharlal Nehru, especially in nation-building. Had he not rejected the mischievous separate electorates proposal for Schedule Caste made by the British in 1932, and signed the Poona Pact with Gandhiji’s representatives (to enable the Mahatma to break his fast unto death), India would have never achieved the unity which we did in 1947, and instead broken into civil war as the British had wanted. Besides piloting the draft constitution resolution in the Constituent Assembly ably Dr.Ambedkar was a profound scholar who got a genuine doctorate from the prestigious Columbia University in USA.
